Melissa has been studying the violin since age 12. She has performed with a number of youth orchestras as well as honors orchestra and all state orchestra throughout middle school and high school. In 2002 she attended fsu where she studied music education and performance under world class violinist, Beth Newdome. Melissa has been teaching the violin ever since she graduated high school in 2002. She has taught as young as 4 and as old as 70. Miss. Groenewold is an avid teacher and performer in the Tallahassee area. She has perfromed over 100 gigs at churches, weddings, parties, etc. Melissa also teaches the guitar, bass guitar, viola, cello and ukelele.
