Kelvin began playing trumpet at the age of 13. Over the years, he developed his skills further by concentrating on the songwriting aspect of music while learning piano and electric guitar. He gained performance experience in the Memphis area by playing in front of public crowds in the crosstown arts area. Though Kelvin can teach many different genres of music, his musical personal favorites are soul, rock, r&b, & funk which had great influence on his style of playing. Kelvin loves music because he feels free in his expression when he plays and loves teaching music because working with other musicians inspires him to create.
