Josh his friends call him Scooter began playing bass guitar at the age of 19, before which time he played electric and acoustic guitar from age 13. When he picked up the bass he knew it was the instrument he was supposed to be playing all along and fell in love with it immediately! Over the years, he developed his skills further by attending college at The Conservatory of Recording Arts and Sciences where he learned to become an Audio Engineer and began doing session work on the bass for local bands. He gained performance experience in the worship area and as a session player by playing at such venues as the Boulder-Boulder, the Bluebird Theater, Bandimere Speedway and New Hills Church; and with acts such as Laci Jo, Ty Morris and H.O.W. and New Hills Worship current bass player. Though Josh can teach many different genres of music, his musical personal favorites are funk, fusion, folk, rock and worship, which have had great influence on his style of playing. Josh loves music because of its ability to bring people together and loves teaching music because he loves to see people have breakthroughs and become better players than he is!
