About Me
Hi, my name is Evan and I am a 21 year old college senior at SC School of The Arts at Anderson University. I am a guitar/drumset double primary, who hails from Charlotte, NC. I have been a student of music since the age of 10, where I started in middle school band as a percussionist. Since then, I have worked at several churches on worship teams, playing with live bands, and mixing/producing my own bands/other artists in my free time, as well as am currently the Worship Coordinator at Cornerstone Methodist in Powdersville. My teaching philosophy can best be described by saying that I just love to make music, and if I can guide anyone into pursuing their love of music further, I will do everything in my power to pass the torch. In my lessons, you can expect to learn a variety of different techniques, approaches to different styles, intermediate to advanced level music theory, and how to make music safely and happily! I like to tell my students that everyone is unique and will have their own strengths, it is okay to have weaknesses, that is how we grow. My favorite thing about teaching is just to see the excitement as my students continue to learn and progress and even impress themselves. I primarily beginner to intermediate guitar lessons, but I can also teach all the way to advanced drum lessons, as well as beginner to intermediate bass. My approach as a teacher is to always gauge where we are starting and to make a dedicated and relevant practice/lesson plan that we can stay on top of throughout the weeks. Thanks for taking a look at my profile. Hope to meet you soon!
