Razaak E.

Born in New York and raised on the Eastern Shore of Maryland, Razaak’s musical journey began at a young age playing classical piano and violin. While attending college, he was active in a wide range of musical groups including the Harvard Krokodiloes, a jazz a cappella ensemble, and the Kuumba Singers of Harvard College, a choir dedicated to music of the African Diaspora. After graduating, he continued his musical path by attending Mmmmaven, a music production school in Boston, where he learned to DJ. He now DJs private events and open mics in the Austin area. In addition to performing, Razaak has taught both group and private lessons at Don’t Stop Rockin’ and iPianoLab, where he designed original games, exercises, and class structures to help students stay engaged and develop musical confidence. Whether in a classroom or one-on-one, he brings creativity and energy to every lesson. Razaak believes music is a universal language that can bring people from all walks of life together. As a teacher, he empowers students to be curious, make mistakes, trust their inner compass—and most importantly, have fun. While strong technique is a great foundation, he sees music not as a competition of difficulty or perfection, but as a means of authentic self-expression and human connection.
