About Me

I began playing guitar at the age of 12. I spent a LOT of time in my room with Guitar World and Guitar Player magazines, wood-shedding on my Honda II Les Paul copy first guitar. I was one of maybe 2 other guitar players in my entire high school. Like minds were scarce, so I got lost inside of music, studying every nook and cranny of my favorite songs. Band life started toward the end of college, in 1997. Later in life, I got real serious about drums. My first band where my role was drummer wasn't until 2012, but since I've been an ardent student of the instrument. A lot of my teaching concept involves visualization, repetition, hands-on application learning songs, innovation, and enjoyment...along with the help of some tablature. However, I am not as well-versed in traditional music notation. I was self-taught in the beginning on all of my instruments. I have had instruction in traditional theory in more recent years, so I can make connections. However, I am fluent.
