I work a lot with my advanced students to encourage good goal setting and consistent practicing. Goals at this level are often competition, performance, accompanying, or personal music objectives. My students work on challenging songs that help them grow and learn more about their playing. There are several theory elements and technical aspects incorporated into the music students learn and play in these lessons.

In all levels of my lessons I like to incorporate a variety of musical concepts and techniques. Ear and eye training are important to music development. Along with this I often incorporate an introduction to composition in my lessons. Learning to develop and write original music strengthens a musicians understanding and often helps grow their appreciation for the art of music.

My beginner piano lessons are all about creating music goals and finding passion for music. One goal I have for my students is learning to confidently read music. I love to incorporate fun piano games and use flashcards and theory to accelerate learning. Beginner lessons are all about building a good foundation of music knowledge and understanding.

Intermediate piano lessons are all about applying foundational principles to a variety of music styles and concepts. In intermediate lessons I encourage my students to choose pieces of music they love for us to work on in lessons. Along with choice pieces intermediate lessons also incorporate new technical concepts including sight reading, scales, arpeggios, and chord structures.
