Hi, my name is Catherine and I am a piano teacher from *New York. I have been a student of music for most of my life, starting lessons myself at the age of 8. My musical influences include the Taubman Technique a hand healthy and virtuosic approach to playing the piano. My teaching style can best be described as caring, thorough, but kind and patient. My teaching philosophy can best be described by saying that I love music and wish to impart that love of music to my students. In my lessons you can expect to learn everything from reading music, musicality, musicianship, expression, interdependence of the hands and more; the sky is the limit and the student determines that limit based on their interest. I like to tell my students that they can achieve whatever they put their minds to. My favorite thing about teaching is watching a student grow and achieve their goals. I primarily teach piano, but I am also a professional accompanist and former Director of Music at various churches as well as various school’s accompanist for their choral programs. My approach as a teacher is the Taubman Approach; technique and hand healthy playing are important to me and allow the motivated student to move quickly ahead. Thanks for taking a look at my profile.
