About Me

Billy has always loved music from an early age. He began playing trumpet at the age of 10 and continued his education by performing with the U.S. Army’s 7th Infantry Division Band, later touring with internationally known artists as a trumpet player, singer, and keyboardist. Over time, he developed as a songwriter and music producer, crafting original music that reflects his deep roots in soul, jazz, gospel, and R&B. His musical influences include Stevie Wonder, Miles Davis, Earth, Wind & Fire, and classic Motown. Billy's favorite thing about music is how it gives voice to the emotions we can’t always express with words. His favorite thing about teaching is helping students unlock their creativity and confidence—whether they’re writing their first song, mastering a trumpet solo, finding their vocal range, or learning to accompany themselves on piano. One of his favorite teaching experiences was volunteering as a substitute band director at Martin County High School, where he saw firsthand how music can transform a student’s sense of self-worth and expression.
