About Me

I began playing trombone over a decade ago. I have experience playing in ensembles across a variety of musical styles orchestral, wind symphony, salsa, big band, jazz combo, marching band, and chamber. Furthermore, I have experience as a soloist. In addition to this, I also have six years of experience teaching private and group music lessons. In 2018, I established MuSE Carlsbad, a non-profit organization that offered free music lessons to K-12 students. As the president of MuSE, I utilized Essential Elements and Suzuki books to teach group and individual lessons for violin, viola, and cello. These lessons focused on plucking, bowing, and proficiency in reading music recognizing and clapping rhythms, music notation, and identifying notes in treble, alto, and bass clef. Beyond MuSE, I worked as a private music teacher for high school trombonists and euphonium players. These lessons focused on distinguishing pitch, knowledge of all major and natural minor scales, rhythm tests, basic music theory balancing chords, adjusting pitches of roots and thirds, recognizing cadences, etc., and musicality. As such, my teaching specialties include beginner and intermediate viola/euphonium, tenor trombone at all levels, and basic music theory. I look forward to meeting you!
