Matthew began playing guitar at the age of 9. Over the years, he developed his skills further by learning to play the drums, bass, keys, and training his voice. He gained performance experience in the Austin area by playing at such venues as The Ballroom and with acts such as Indigo. Though Matthew can teach many genres of music, one of his musical personal favorites is The Strokes, which had great influence on his style of playing. Matthew loves music because it's the greatest thing ever and loves teaching music because he loves inspiring the next generation of guitar players.
