About Me

Thor B is a highly experienced music producer, saxophonist, keyboardist, singer, and choir conductor with a rich career spanning more than three decades. He began his journey in 1983 as a young clarinet teacher, and by 1989, he was touring professionally with pop bands, performing on keyboards, saxophone, and vocals. Since the mid-90s, Thor has led numerous church and gospel choirs and performed saxophone and piano in a wide variety of churches, choirs, and concert settings. He has taught saxophone, wind instruments, and keyboard at the Skien School of Culture as well as privately. Two of his standout students—renowned jazz saxophonist André Kassen and internationally acclaimed jazz pianist Eyolf Dale—have gone on to major success. Thor has built and operated multiple recording studios and produced a wide range of musical genres. A longtime Cubase user, he transitioned to Logic Pro in 2011 and now composes, records, and mixes from his home studio in Lewisville, Texas, after relocating from Norway to Dallas. As a studio teacher and music mentor, Thor brings technical expertise, creative insight, and a passion for growth. I play both soprano and alto saxophone, and as a saxophone instructor, my goal is to inspire you to enjoy playing and grow with confidence. I place a strong focus on developing a beautiful, expressive sound, working on tone quality, confident vibrato, and musical interpretation. I teach all styles of music and can help you dive into both written scores and improvisation, depending on your interests.
