Lawrence began playing percussion at the age of 5. Over the years, he developed his skills further by playing at church and in school. He gained performance experience in the El Paso area by playing at such venues as The Perculator, Coco Bar, Aardovino’s, and St. Mark’s United Methodist. He played with acts such as Billy Townes, Marty Olivas, Carlos Barba and Candice Reyes. Though Lawrence can teach many different genres of music, his musical personal favorites are jazz and contemporary worship, which had great influence on his style of playing. Lawrence loves music because it is the universal language and loves teaching music because passing the love and knowledge of music to others is what he believes will make the world a better place.
