Griffin began playing guitar at the age of 9. Over the years, he developed his skills further by completing academic music theory courses and learning bass, guitar, piano, ukulele, pedal steel guitar, and songwriting skills. He gained performance experience in roots music blues, jazz, rock’ n roll/rockabilly, bluegrass, country & western by playing at such venues as Last Concert Café, Dan Electro’s, Shady Acres Saloon, Heights Theater and with acts such as The Texas Gentlemen, Ben Kweller, Todd Snider, Gary P Nunn, and Paula Nelson. Though Griffin can teach many different genres of music, his musical personal favorites are traditional Rock n' Roll, blues, & coubtry/western-swing-all of which have had great influence on his style of playing and songwriting. Griffin loves The Beatles! He loves teaching music because both the student and teacher learn new things together and enjoys developing more positive playing techniques.
