About Me

Carlahas had a successful career in Public, Private and Religious teaching and administration. She began her career as a Band Director and Music teacher. She then became the Director of Music and Curriculum Development at Friends Academy. Through her career Carla advanced into being an Academic teacher, specializing in English, ELA and Mathematics, Administration and ultimately as a Principal at The Upper Room Christian School. Carla has a BFA in Music Education and a Masters in Educational Administration. Carla is a permanently certified K-12 Music Teacher and a permanently certified School Administrator. Her years of experience has given her the opportunity to become a well-versed educator, administrator, and leader in the field. Enthusiastic and dedicated, Carla has implemented each school strategic plan that encompasses a Master Plan for long-range improvements and expansion. Beyond her teaching and administration experience. Carla has a Proven record of accomplishments including writing and designing two music curriculums that have been approved by the New York State Education Department, award winning Bands at Music Competitions and Festivals, as well as piloting and implementing an Arts and Cultural Arts Program for General & Special Needs Students. Carla also assisted in Piloting an International High School and College Preparatory Program for International Students. Carla was also a host Mom to seven Chinese students. Carla’s recent teaching experience has been at the Unity School in Delray Beach Carla is excited about this new adventure and joining the team, where she can nurture, inspire and teach young minds for a bright future!
