About Me

Hi! My name is Kevin and I’m a multi-instrumentalist with 13 years of music experience. I began playing guitar at age 8 and progressively added more instruments to my repertoire; taking on the trumpet in my high school’s concert band to picking up the drums after the best Christmas ever to playing bass in high school Jazz Band where we earned a Superior rating at Districts and an Excellent at States. I also tried my hand at the Violin and Piano although after a few years, I decided to dedicate my time to guitar, bass and drums primarily. My most recent endeavor is that of music production and engineering which I now have 2 years of experience in and greatly enjoy. However, my first and main loves in the realm of music have always been and always will be the guitar and its brother, the bass. Paired with my music experience and knowledge is a passion and enthusiasm for teaching. Nothing brings me more joy than seeing the progress of a new guitarist and watching the process of the creation of a musician. My teaching style is extremely flexible and my priority is always the progress and enjoyment of the student. As someone who has had both great and lacking guitar teachers, I know how tedious some instructors can make the learning process. My goal is to make sure my students enjoy every step of the learning process. I am also an avid songwriter and poet who is a semester away from obtaining my Bachelor’s in English. My main genres of focus for songwriting are hiphop and metal and I actively write and record music in both genres for my personal projects and band. With a background in both songwriting as well as literary and poetic English, I am confident that I would be a great resource for aspiring writers.
