Joelle G.

Hi, my name is Joelle, and I am a musician from Greeley. I have been a student of music for 10+ years. My musical influences include classical, folk, worship, gospel, and musical theater; I also enjoy jazz, country, and rock. My teaching style can best be described as student-centered. My teaching philosophy can be best described as a commitment to teaching children and young adults the value of music, helping them develop their own musical skills, and thereby increasing their enjoyment and appreciation of music throughout their lives. In my lessons, you can expect to develop musical skills, ear training, music theory, technical proficiency, and a deep appreciation for music. I like to tell my students that music is a form of self-expression. It is a tool to share goodness, kindness, and joy with the world. My favorite aspect of teaching is witnessing students grow in their skills and as individuals. My favorite performance was at the Cathedral Basilica of St. Francis in Santa Fe, NM, with UNC's Chamber Choir, which I participated in during the Spring 2025 semester. My students love that I am flexible and willing to teach them any song they want to learn. I primarily teach voice, but I also offer instruction in drums and piano.
