Diego E.

Diego, a first generation American, is the first person in his family with the opportunity to pursue a full-time career in the music industry. Fleeing the destruction of a civil war, his mom immigrated from El Salvador at 14-years-old. She went on to have a successful career as a single mom and business woman. In 2016, she decided to make a shift and open a music school. Together, they built a thriving music school in Fayetteville, Arkansas and eventually expanded to Bentonville, Arkansas. There, Diego learned how to play guitar, piano, bass, and drums by listening to lessons through the walls. After college, Diego tried to ignore his passion for music and pursue a sales career at General Mills. He continued to feed his passion by teaching himself production and learning Ableton & Pro Tools. But after a few years, he was ready to take the leap. He quit his job and applied to the Berklee College of Music Masters in Music Production & Technology program. At Berklee, Diego learned from industry leaders and an impressive group of students. Perhaps most importantly, Diego met his mentor, Dr. Susan Rogers. Dr. Rogers is recognized for her work with Prince from 1983 to 1988, including albums like Purple Rain, Around the World in a Day, Parade, Sign o' the Times, and The Black Album. Diego is honored Dr. Rogers agreed to mentor him, and her guidance has been and will continue to be an invaluable guiding light in his career. As of March 2024, Diego finished his program at Berklee, and is extremely excited to deepen my involvement in the music and audio community in KC!
