Gian S.

Gian has been a skilled tenor and vocalist for over 20 years, and a dedicated violinist for over 14 years. He has performed internationally in his undergrad with the University of Mount Union Concert Choir and Kantorei chorus. He made his Severance Hall debut while studying for his Master's degree in vocal performance with the Kent State Opera Company, and the Kent State University Orchestra. Gian was previously the concertmaster of the University of Mount Union string chamber ensemble, during which he debuted one of his first string compositions, "Kyrie for Strings." He was also previously the assistant concertmaster of the Video Game Symphony of Cleveland. Gian currently performs with the Tuscarawas Philharmonic and works as a freelance musician, while also privately studying vocal technique, violin technique, and music composition. Many of Gian's notable teachers include Mary Cooper, Mary Bontrager, Shawna Hinkle, David Rutter, Amanda-Joyce Abbott, Dr. Grant Cook III, Dr. Elaine Anderson, Eric Benjamin, Tim Culver, Jay White, and Dr. Jungho Kim.
