Ruth M. M.

Hi, my name is Ruth M. and I am a singer-songwriter from the island of Puerto Rico. I have been studying music formally for over 9 years. My musical influences are mainly based on contemporary genres such as latin jazz, soul, r&b, rock, and different musical styles from the Caribbean. I have also been classically trained which has allowed me to appreciate different techniques and vocal abilities. My teaching style can best be described as fun, innovative, and challenging. My teaching philosophy can best be described by saying that I like to motivate my students to become good musicians and not vocalists that way they are prepared for different artistic opportunities. In my lessons, you can expect to learn about music theory as well and not just vocal technique. My favorite thing about teaching is seeing, hearing, and experiencing the improvement of my students after each class while getting to know them better. My favorite performance was the worship concert "UNO" at the Coliseo of Puerto Rico, which happened this year. My students love that I not only teach them about music but also like to listen to them and ask them about their goals in life they also love when I pray for them and their lesson. I primarily teach vocal performance, but I can also teach very basic piano. My approach as a teacher is to challenge my students to become the best version of themselves and not just as musicians.
