Sol(formerly known as Anasol) is a Colombian singer-songwriter, born in Argentina, recognized today for her poetic and powerful Latin folk style. She began her career in 1999 under the name Anasol, as a Latin pop artist. Her debut album, Escorpión de Primavera, reached No. 1 on Colombian radio with its lead single “Pensando en Desorden.” In 2002, she released her second album, Astros, under Sony Music Colombia, achieving gold and platinum certifications. Her third album, Anasol (2005), featured the hit single “Sentimiento,” which reached No. 31 on Billboard’s Hot Latin Pop Airplay chart. That same year, she was nominated for a Premio Lo Nuestro, one of the most prestigious Latin music awards in the United States. Later, under the name Sol, she embraced a new artistic direction, rooted in Latin American folklore, blending traditional rhythms with poetic songwriting. Her album La Dama Oscura (2018) was nominated at the MIN Awards, Spain’s top independent music honors, and includes her interpretation of “Que Nadie Sepa Mi Sufrir” and her original song “Disparo”, both part of the HBO Max film Del Otro Lado del Jardín soundtrack. Sol has performed at major festivals including Oslo World (Norway), BIME City (Bilbao), Noches del Botánico (Madrid), Arrecife de las Músicas (Canary Islands), LAMC (New York), Womad (Gran Canaria), Festival América Late (Madrid), and Mas i Mas (Barcelona). She has opened for Fito Páez (Ciudad Liberada Tour, Colombia) and Yann Tiersen (Spain), and shared the stage with Chilean singer-songwriter Manuel García in Gran Canaria and Lanzarote. Her collaborations include “La Mariposa y el Farolero (feat. Sol )” with Manuel García, “Overflowing” with French producer Monsieur Shwill, and “Brigitte, encara ací”, a Catalan version of a Los Planetas song with Verdcel. Her track “Ese Amor” was featured in the film Brizna, selected for the Cartagena Film Festival. Sol is also a passionate educator with over 10 years of experience teaching voice, guitar, piano, and songwriting in Barcelona and New York City, at schools such as Music Box (NYC), Joe’s Academy of Music (NYC), and Shine School of Music (Barcelona). She also spent over eight years performing soul-pop in restaurants and hotels across Spain with various bands. She studied music and sound engineering at Pontificia Universidad Javeriana in Bogotá and is the producer of her own work. Always evolving, Sol continues to explore new rhythmic and poetic territories. “Mujer Unicornio” marked the beginning of this new artistic phase, and this year she presents her latest studio album, De Padre Soñadora.
