Lessons focus on healthy vocal technique, breath control, tone quality, and musical expression across various styles. Whether preparing for performances, auditions, or just singing for joy, students will build confidence and skill through guided warm-ups, repertoire work, and personalized coaching.

Instrumental Lessons (Flute and More): Instrumental students can expect a hands-on, engaging learning experience that sharpens both technical ability and musical expression. Lessons include tone production, articulation, sight-reading, and ensemble skills. With experience in orchestras, ensembles, and solo performance, I help students prepare for auditions, concerts, and school performances with confidence and skill.

Beginner - Intermediate

Piano students will experience a balanced approach that combines music theory, technique, and creativity. From the very first lesson, students learn how to read music, understand rhythm, and develop hand coordination in a way that’s both accessible and rewarding. Whether starting from scratch or continuing previous studies, lessons are tailored to match the student’s pace and goals.

Formal Education:

Bachelors in Music

Private Education:

My foundation in music began at age 12 through active participation in band, orchestra, and choir, which sparked a lifelong passion for performing and learning. Throughout high school, I studied privately in both voice and flute, gaining valuable one-on-one instruction that helped me prepare for auditions, competitions, and advanced ensemble work. This personal experience with private lessons gives me a deep understanding of the individualized attention and mentorship that private education provides.

Performing Experience:

I bring a well-rounded performance background that includes touring with orchestras, leading traveling ensembles, and participating in collegiate-level vocal and flute ensembles. I’ve performed in juried evaluations, chamber groups, and large ensembles, gaining experience across a wide range of classical and contemporary styles. My training also includes preparing for competitive auditions such as IMEA and MMEA, giving me firsthand insight into the discipline and artistry required for high-level musical performance.

Review:

Patient and encouraging

“Working with Serenity completely changed the way I see music. She's patient, encouraging, and really took the time to understand how I learn best. Whether we were working on vocals, piano, or audition prep, I always felt supported and challenged in a good way. I've grown so much thanks to her, and I honestly looked forward to every lesson!” — Former Student Serenity Dotson Rentsch wrote on Sun, 03 Aug 2025
