About Me

Lauren started her musical career at the age of three with Suzuki violin lessons. By the age of 5, she had added piano lessons with her mother and continued these lessons throughout elementary, middle, and high school. During high school, under the tutelage of Marcia Schweithale, Lauren had the opportunity to participate in several area piano competitions. Lauren has won honorable mentions at MMTA State competitions, is a 2x winner of the Beverlie Roper Piano Competition, and also a District Winner of Federation of Music Clubs Festival. Studying classical violin under Korinne Lowe Hamblin, Lauren also successfully completed all ten Suzuki violin books, and has spent various summers at Suzuki Institutes, most recently Intermountain Suzuki Institute and Ann Arbor Suzuki Institute. Lauren also has had the opportunity to participate in several concert tours with the Nashville-based 'Southern Suzuki Strings' tour group, which has completed various tours around the globe, notably Oahu, HI, and a two-week tour of Rome, Pisa, Florence, and Venice. Lauren graduated with a piano performance major under the tutelage of Dr. Wei-Han Su, and was the Keyboard Department area Presser Award nominee. Having been a dedicated teacher from the time she was 15, Lauren's greatest joys in life come from the shared experiences of teaching music to others.
