Hi, my name is Julisa, and I am a music lover from California. I have been a student of music for 13 years. My musical influences include Eric Whitacre, and I also enjoy Jim Papoulli. My teaching style can best be described as fun, yet structured. My teaching philosophy can best be described by saying that I believe in skill, not talent. I believe music education is vital and wonderful for people to participate in. In my lessons, you can expect to learn aural skills, technique skills, practice techniques, and maybe a bit of musical theory. I like to tell my students, "I KNOW this is hard now, but I also KNOW you can do this". My favorite thing about teaching is watching my students discover and develop an appreciation for music and hone their musical abilities. My favorite performance was my college recital. My students love that I incorporate a lot of movement and games in my lessons that actually WORK. I primarily teach voice, but I can also teach piano and guitar. My approach as a teacher is to make sure you feel confident about what you're doing, how you're doing it, and what you need to do to get better. Thanks for taking a look at my profile.
