About Me

I've been a bass player since I was sixteen. I saw Flea from the Red Hot Chili Peppers, and decided that I had to learn how to do that. So, I taught myself-with a little help from my friends, of course. I found the resources online that I needed, and through that and copious amounts of jamming, became one of the best bass players I have personally ever met-and I wouldn't be saying that if so many other people hadn't said the same. Going without formal training taught me something very special about the fundamentals of music: That it is primarily about the *performance* of the music, the actual connection between the player, the music, and the listener, that drives success in learning an instrument. Not that I lack the theory, I just learned it all myself, and practiced it with extremely talented musicians. I still remember how I was taught, and I still remember the ease with which I taught others using those same methods-a folded piece of paper with some theory written on it, combined with the right jam partners and personal drive, can yield incredible results. Spreading the gift of music would be a dream come true, and my reviews will reflect that. I'm a bass player and a songwriter, I have incredible skill with slap and some hard-won insight into just *how important* it is to properly warm your hands up before launching into that sort of thing. I can do pinch harmonics, and can get just about anyone to basic competency in playing bass, writing basic songs, and understanding the theory behind what they're doing within a year, if not six months. Again: Wait for the reviews. I also have some valuable experience in the world of playing music in a band, that I'd love to share with young people looking to break into the business. From the moment I pick up a bass, you'll know why I'm here, and, again, about six months from my first lesson you'll see the skill I bring to the table, in imparting that knowledge. I look forward-greatly-to hearing back from you. Just give me a date, and a time and a location. I have everything else I need.
