My name is Chandler and I’m a passionate guitar and bass instructor from Santa Clarita with over 15 years of experience as a student and practitioner of music. I draw inspiration from groundbreaking bands like The Beatles and The Beach Boys, mystical singer/songwriters like Hozier and Jeff Buckley, and riff heavy beasts like Black Sabbath and Metallica. My music playing began as a toddler joining my talented grandpa at the grand piano. I learned from his instructions and practice of "learning by ear". I then graduated to playing guitar as it is the core of the genre I was interested in playing, rock!!! While honing my ear was, and continues to aid me in playing, I pursued formal education to expand my music theory repertoire which not only made learning songs easier, but also improved my own writing skills. I love sharing my excitement of music with my students and playing a role in their growth. I approach teaching with personalized curriculums to help you achieve your specific goals. Whether that's learning your first song, learning to improvise, learning the academic music theory to understand songs, or writing your own songs… I am happy to assist you to play what you want to play. What I enjoy most about teaching are the “aha” moments—those breakthroughs where everything clicks. Music is full of them, and helping students reach that point is what drives me. There’s always new chords to be mesmerized by, licks to master, and patterns to discover. I’m excited to bring my experience, enthusiasm, and individualized teaching style to help students reach their musical goals.
