Hello there, my name is Steven-John and I am a drum instructor from PG County, MD. I have been a student of music for 17 years. My musical influences include Memphis May Fire and I also enjoy August Burns Red. My teaching style can best be described as patient and supportive. My teaching philosophy can best be described by saying that "I will take the amount of time necessary to lead my student to success." In my lessons, you can expect to learn timing, drumming mechanics, good drumming habits, and live performance preparation and execution. I like to tell my students that "Perfect Practice Makes Perfect." My favorite thing about teaching is watching my students smile when they learn a maneuver they struggled with earlier. My favorite performance was playing "Live at Westwood" in the United Kingdom. My students love that I teach patiently and never get frustrated. I primarily teach intermediate-level students, but I can also teach beginner and advanced students. My approach as a teacher is to be patient and make all students feel encouraged to learn.
