About Me
Colin has always loved music from an early age. He began playing guitar at the age of 16 and continued his education by taking music courses at Arizona State University. His musical influences include The Beatles, Grateful Dead, Pink Floyd, and more. Colin's favorite thing about music is how it has helped him understand his own life better. His favorite thing about teaching music is that it can help others develop a healthy and fun lifelong hobby. When taking lessons with Colin you can expect patience, guidance, and just a good time jamming/learning the guitar! Performing Experience:
I perform regularly as part of a band that shares a deep love for late ’60s rock music — especially The Beatles, The Grateful Dead, and other iconic artists from that era. Our sets are a mix of classic covers and original material, and we enjoy bringing that vintage sound to life at local venues and community events. In addition to my band, I was also an active member of the Popular Music program at Arizona State University, where I had the opportunity to collaborate with other musicians and perform frequently. From small showcases to larger stage productions, these performances gave me valuable experience in both live and studio settings, helping me grow as both a performer and a songwriter.
Experience Teaching:
From an early age, I combined my love for music with my natural ability to connect with people by starting a babysitting and guitar teaching service for families in my neighborhood. What began as helping local kids stay entertained quickly grew into something more meaningful as I started introducing them to the basics of guitar. Over time, I found myself teaching more and more — not just kids, but also friends who were curious to pick up the instrument. I enjoy breaking things down in a way that makes learning approachable and fun, especially for beginners. Whether you're picking up a guitar for the very first time or just need a little push to get started, I’m here to guide you through the fundamentals and help build your confidence from day one.
