Hi there, I'm Kevin! I've been a pianist for almost 14 years and my interest in music began at the age of 8 when I would often try to play songs by ear for fun. And so, for two years I was able to take formal piano lessons before becoming self taught until the age of 16. In 2019, I began lessons once again, and studied jazz and classical music under jazz pianist Matt Asti. When I received a music scholarship to attend Kutztown University after high school, I joined the music program and studied with renowned classical pianist and educator Maria Asteriadou. There I was fortunate enough to receive multiple awards and scholarships for my musical excellence and studies, and succesfully complete the KU Honors Program. My experience at Kutztown enabled me to perform in the top rock and jazz ensembles and even briefly start a band with fellow students to share my love of video game music! I also participated in many different classical ensembles.Though I can teach many different genres of music, I specialize in classical music, jazz, and video game music. As a composing hobbyist, these musical styles greatly influence my own writing style. In addition to performing, my skills also include music notation, DAW composition, transcription, music theory, and ear training. My philosophy of teaching is rooted in a personalized teaching style, willing the best for each student by customizing lessons for each student because everyone is unique, and learns in different ways. Music education isn't one size fits all! Having been taught in such a personalized way, I know the fruits of this method of teaching well to know it can greatly aid my students.
