Hi! My name is Juliet and I am a singer-songwriter in based in Richmond, VA! I primarily teach guitar, voice, and songwriting, but I can also teach the ukulele and some piano. I started playing guitar at 8 years old. I was trained in classical guitar, but eventually I shifted my focus towards songwriting and learning more popular songs. I have been in choirs all my life, which has taught me many tips and tricks in singing with proper technique and artistry. I love sharing music with others, whether that's by teaching music lessons to my close friends and family, leading choir groups, or by performing out. I perform out frequently at different venues in Richmond VA playing guitar and singing both covers and original songs. I have written and released two albums on Spotify, so I also have experience with producing. I would love to create something with you! My lessons would be completely catered to what you want to learn. I will do my best to make sure you are not only playing music, but enjoying it!

I think everyone's creative process is different, so we will explore different types of writing exercises. You can find inspiration for a song anywhere, whether that's through visual art, reading different texts, or finding musical influences. We will explore different artists in order to cultivate your own unique sound!
What to expect in my Vocal Lessons
Beginner - Intermediate - Advanced
First I would establish proper vocal technique so that you can always sing in a healthy and sustainable way. Next we would go through the different vocal manipulations used to emphasize the artistry of the song, like vowel pronunciation and vocal placement. I want my lessons to be catered to you, so we would learn songs YOU want to sing.
What to expect in my Guitar Lessons
Beginner - Intermediate - Advanced
For beginners, we would start with the basics: how to hold the guitar, how to strum and play single notes, and how to play simple chords to their favorite songs! For my more advanced folks I can teach my unique style of fingerpicking that mixes Travis picking and classical guitar technique. I want each of my students to enjoy playing the guitar, so we will focus on learning songs YOU want to play.
