Rusty began playing drums at the age of 10. He attended the Univeristy of North Carolina at Charlotte on a music scholarship. He gained performance experience in the North Carolina area by playing at such venues as Blumenthal Performing Arts Center and with acts such as The Charlotte Symphony Orchestra. Rusty worked in the motion picture industry for many years and wrote and performed on the drums for film scores and commercial soundtracks across the globe. Though Rusty can teach many different genres of music, his musical personal favorites are rock, jazz and marching band, which had great influence on his style of playing. Rusty loves music because it is an innate human language and loves teaching music because it speaks from the soul.
