About Me

Cheryl has been singing professionally since the age of seven when she won her first school talent show. She became a recording artist at the age of 18 years, singing with her family on their debut gospel album. Cheryl went to college but continued to sing, joining a girl group and performing solos. Cheryl became involved in musical theater after graduating performing in plays such as Gilbert & Sullivan's Swing Mikado, Ain't Misbehavin and Black Nativity. Cheryl moved to New York City where she received classical training from now deceased Therman Bailey who worked with the likes of Mariah Carey and Whitney Houston. Cheryl sung on Tommy Hilfiger's Tommy Girl commercial for their debut frangrance and in the film, Black & White starring Brooke Shields.

Intermediate Songwriting Students What to Expect in a One-Hour Lesson: Intermediate students will refine their songwriting voice and begin to explore style, structure, and emotional depth in their work. Lesson Highlights: Advanced Lyric Techniques: metaphor, imagery, and emotional layering Melodic Development: hooks, phrasing, and vocal range Chord Progressions & Song Form: experimenting with structure Genre Exploration: adapting style to pop, R&B, soul, etc. Feedback & Revision: learning how to edit and strengthen a song Students will leave with a more polished draft and tools to elevate their songwriting craft. ???? Advanced Songwriting Students What to Expect in a One-Hour Lesson: Advanced students will focus on artistic identity, commercial readiness, and professional polish. Lessons are tailored to support recording artists, performers, and serious creatives.
