Nicole has always loved music from an early age. There was never truly a time where she wasn't practicing and playing music. She began her formal training, however, at the age of 14 and continued her education by attending and earning her AA in Vocal performance and she is currently pursuing a BMU in Contemporary Songwriting and Performance at Columbia College in downtown Chicago. Her musical influences include everything from The Beatles to Beyonce, Billie Eillish to Willie Nelson, Slayer to Mozart and beyond. Nicole's favorite thing about music is its subjectivity and its language which allows a form of expression that, she feels, nothing else quite achieves. Her favorite thing about teaching music is providing a student-centered experience. Developing a personalized lesson plan for each student ensures that everyone walks out of the classroom feeling excited and attended to. One of her favorite teaching experiences was a student who came to her with speech pathology issues who left by the end of the year, singing and dancing in front of large crowds and loving it.
