Rares Vlad is a passionate guitar educator with over 10 years of experience empowering students of all ages and skill levels. Committed to developing both technical excellence and creative expression, Rares specializes in personalized instruction that adapts to each student’s musical interests whether in rock, blues, pop, jazz, or classical guitar. Rares provides one-on-one lessons that emphasize strong foundational technique, improvisation, music theory, and stylistic versatility. His teaching approach is grounded in mentorship, focusing on building each student’s confidence and unique artistic voice. Based on his extensive experience as a session guitarist, accompanist, and wedding performer, the lessons focus around practical and insightful perspectives. Rares also serves as a guitar staff accompanist at Berklee College of Music, where he supports student performances and classroom instruction by providing accompaniment to each performer’s skill level and artistic goals. His musical journey has been shaped by private studies with world-class musicians such as Matthew Stevens, Oz Noy, Nir Felder, and Tim Miller, and his dedication to the craft was recognized with Berklee’s Guitar Department Achievement Award in 2024. As an active performer, Rares has had the privilege of working with renowned artists including Dee Dee Bridgewater, Tia Fuller, Alain Mallet, Luis Perdomo, Francisco Mela, Dave Santoro, and Arturo Sandoval. These experiences further enhance his ability to prepare students for both the technical demands and the expressivity of live performance. With a deep belief in the power of individualized learning, Rares is committed to guiding students toward developing their own musical identity while mastering the skills needed to thrive as confident performers and lifelong musicians.
