My name is James and I am a pianist and composer from new Haven, CT. I have studied piano for over 20 years and attending multiple colleges for music and composition. My favorite music is early twentieth century eastern European classical music like Prokofiev, Stravinsky, Bartók, and Ligeti. Technique and mechanics are important to allowing the music to reach the piano through the fingers. I will teach students these foundations of playing, keeping aware of the written music and always favoring memorization over reading.
