Todd has lived and breathed music from early childhood. He began playing mandolin in 1998 and continued his education by countless mandolin camps, workshops, and private studies with renowned players. Then going to the university to pursue a degree in music. At the university, they didn't consider mandolin a formal instrument, so he had to adhere to the classical guitar program, but in all ensemble endeavors he was allowed to perform on mandolin. His musical influences include Mozart, David Grisman, Chris Thile, Carlo Aonzo, Django Reinhardt, Bach, Lunasa, Tim O'Brien and so many more. Todd's favorite thing about music is the discipline of learning something new, then being able to express it. His favorite thing about teaching music is sharing this ancient language with others. One of his favorite teaching experiences was teaching a 5-year-old and a 75-year-old in the same room.
