Hi! I'm Alexa, a passionate music teacher with over 10 years of experience on drum set, marimba, and piano. I teach drums, piano, and marimba, combining traditional techniques with modern approaches to make learning fun and effective. My goal as a teacher is to help every student build confidence, creativity, and a lifelong love for music! I started piano lessons at a young age before moving to percussion in the school band. Throughout junior high, I developed my skills on the marimba, drum set, and piano. In high school, I performed as a percussionist in the concert orchestra and played drum set in the jazz band. Outside of school, I was the drummer in several rock bands for fun. I further pursued my passion by studying music performance at University of St. Thomas, where I performed with their concert orchestra and jazz band, taking the stage at Orchestra Hall and internationally. After transferring to the University of Minnesota, I minored in music performance. Upon graduation, I joined the Grand Symphonic Winds ensemble, performing as a percussionist in both the Twin Cities and Chicago. Currently, I'm the drummer for Dead Kings of Norway, an alternative music band that performs original music throughout the Twin Cities.
