About Me

Hi, my name is Noah! I teach guitar and piano, and have experience with genres such as classical, jazz, blues, rock, metal, hymns, and worship music. My approach to teaching music is that I believe experience is the most effective way to train musicianship, so I will encourage my students to play often. However, I have a strong emphasis on fundamentals, because if these are not correct habits can form which can be uneconomic and even harmful. If a boat is sailing north, butit directed even. 01 degrees east, after 500 miles it's going to be very off course, even if the change in direction seemed negligible at the start. As far as theory, I am only interested in so far as it is practical. So, I am very interested in it! I am also able to teach music composition and am currently writing a book called "Restoring Classical Music" where I am compiling a few years of research with experts. I can possibly take in person students if they live in Tacoma, Lakewood, University Place, Olympia, Puyallup, Federal Way, or Seattle. At this time, I don't have a car, and I live in Tacoma, so I would need to rely on public transportation.
