About Me

Hi, my name is Noah! I'm a musician of 8 years, a student of music composition, and the Choir Director at Norkenzie Christian Church. I teach guitar and piano, and have experience with genres such as classical, jazz, pop, blues, rock, metal, hymns, and worship music. Aside from playing, I can also teach music theory, composition, and improvisation. I currently do not have a car so will evaluate if I can travel to students on a case by case basis. My approach to teaching music is that I believe experience is the most effective way to train musicianship, so I will encourage my students to play often. However, I have a strong emphasis on fundamentals, because if these are not correct habits can form which can be uneconomic and even harmful. If a boat is attempting to sail true north, but it is directed even 1 degree east, after 500 miles it's going to be very off course, even if the change in direction seemed negligible at the start. What to expect in my Bass Guitar Lessons

Beginner -

In bass lessons, I can teach the fundamentals such as knowing the notes on the fretboard, playing with a pick or fingerstyle, playing in time, reading, and making good, simple baselines.

What to expect in my Guitar Lessons

Beginner - Intermediate

In guitar lessons, I can teach the fundamentals and more such as knowing the notes on the fretboard, playing with a pick or fingerstyle, playing in time, reading music, strumming, playing lead lines, song-writing, and improvising.

What to expect in my Vocal Lessons

Beginner -

In vocal lessons, I can teach the fundamentals such as singing with sustainable technique, singing in time, reading music, song-writing, and singing with good pitch.

What to expect in my Keyboard and Piano Lessons

Beginner - Intermediate

In Keyboard/Piano lessons I can teach practical and useful skills like playing with sustainable technique, playing in time, singing while you play, reading music, playing what is in your head, accompanying, improvising, and composing.
