Hi, my name is Marcus and I am a musician from Lawton, Oklahoma. I have been a student of music for 30 years. My musical influences include a variety of groups and artists such as Larnell Lewis, Todd Suchermann, and the NCAT Coldsteel drumline. and I also enjoy solo artist like Eric Moore and JD Beck. My teaching style can best be described as methodical and intricate. My teaching philosophy can best be described by saying that I expect discipline and commitment to what you’re pursuing in your musical journey. In my lessons, you can expect to learn stick control and musical techniques that translate to success. I like to tell my students what you put into anything is what you get out. My favorite thing about teaching is witnessing growth. My favorite performance is every Sunday at my church. My students love that I am extremely motivational but I expect effort. I primarily teach marching percussion, but I can also teach concert as well as skill for drum kits and xylophone. My approach as a teacher is to expand by repetition.
