Katherine has always loved music from an early age. She began playing piano at the age of seven and continued her education by earning a Bachelor’s degree in music at the University of Washington. Her musical influences include Vladimir Horowitz and Martha Argerich. Katherine's favorite thing about music is how it makes her feel satisfied in creating something beautiful; and her favorite thing about teaching music is sharing her love of music with her students. One of her favorite teaching experiences was when her students gave a wonderful performance and then honored her with a gift of appreciation the following day.
