Hi! I’m Sebastian — a performing musician and passionate instructor specializing in guitar, bass, songwriting, and recording. I’ve been playing and performing for years, and my approach to teaching blends real-world musicianship with creativity and fun. Whether you’re picking up an instrument for the first time or looking to refine your skills, I’ll help you learn the techniques, theory, and confidence to express yourself through music. My lessons focus on building strong fundamentals, developing your ear, and connecting what you play to the music you love. When I’m not teaching, you’ll find me performing at local venues, writing and recording original music, and collaborating with other artists. I’m all about helping students discover their unique sound and keeping the joy of playing at the heart of every lesson. Let’s make music together!
Sebastian R. has over 6 years of music experience in the Philadelphia area.

What to expect in my Song Writing Lessons
In my songwriting lessons, students learn how to turn ideas into finished songs. We’ll explore melody, lyrics, structure, and storytelling — all while developing your own creative voice. I guide you through writing from emotion and experience, understanding song form, and building confidence in your sound. Whether you’re a beginner or an experienced musician, we’ll work together to make songs that feel authentic and expressive — and have fun in the process.
What to expect in my Bass Guitar Lessons
In my bass lessons, students will learn how to lock in with rhythm, groove with confidence, and understand the role of the bass in any style of music. We’ll work on technique, timing, theory, and feel — all while learning songs that keep you inspired. I focus on helping you develop a strong sense of pocket and musical awareness, so you can play with other musicians naturally and express your unique style. Whether you’re brand new to bass or looking to level up, we’ll build your foundation from the ground up and keep it fun every step of the way.
What to expect in my Guitar Lessons
In my guitar lessons, students can expect a relaxed, hands-on approach that focuses on both skill and creativity. We’ll cover everything from chords, rhythm, and technique to ear training and playing by feel. I tailor each lesson to your goals — whether that’s learning your favorite songs, jamming confidently, or writing your own music. My goal is to help you build solid fundamentals while keeping things fun and inspiring, so you leave every session excited to play more.
What to expect in my Record Engineer Produce
As a performing artist and producer, I love helping students turn their musical ideas into finished songs. In my lessons, you’ll learn the full creative process — from recording and arranging to mixing and final production. We’ll use programs like GarageBand and Logic to explore songwriting, sound design, and how to build tracks that truly express who you are as an artist. My approach blends real-world experience with hands-on practice, so you’ll learn not just the technical side of recording, but how to think and create like a producer. By the end, you’ll have the confidence to shape your own sound and share it with the world.

Sonya
Sebastian is such a good teacher and an amazing bass player. It took me less than 2 weeks to learn how to play a full song and I’ve never picked up bass before! Sonya wrote on Mon, 30 Nov -0001
