About Me

Hi, my name is Jonas and I am a musician from Connecticut. I have been a student of music for 17 years. My musical influences include jazz, classic rock, singer/songwriter, indie, and world music. My teaching style can best be described as student-centered and discussion-based. My teaching philosophy can best be described by saying that my lessons are influenced by neuroscience-backed learning and practice methods, which I studied in university. In my lessons, you can expect to tell me your goals for your instrument and we will work to achieve them. I like to track my students' progress so they can see how they improve. My favorite thing about teaching is getting the share the joy of performing with other people. My favorite performer is Julian Lage. My students love that I encourage creativity and playing around with the songs they are learning. I primarily teach guitar, but I can also teach bass, keyboard, ukulele, and drums.
