About Me

I began playing the guitar about 20 years ago with no clear intention. I knew I liked mainstream rock and some pop, but I never had any musical ability. The guitar sat under my bed for a few years rarely being played. It wasn't until I experienced a sudden personal loss as a teenager that I began to understand the true power of music. It became a new language of expression. I strongly believe if more people found healthier ways to communicate and process the trauma in their lives, the world could become a better place.

What to expect in my Guitar Lessons

Beginner -

In this beginner's guitar course, students can expect to learn about guitar fundamentals such as parts of the instrument, how to properly hold the instrument, and tuning. Once students are comfortable with handling the instrument, we would learn basic open chords, simple strumming patterns, and rhythm. We would also go over how to read basic tablature (simplified form of sheet music for guitarist) and talk about the students own musical interest and likes.

Formal Education:

Graduated high school in 2010. No formal music training.

Private Education:

Self taught through independent studies. My musical influences range from rock, classical, pop, alternative, folk and r&b. I have extensive recording and production experience as well, working in broadcast television as well as independently producing and distributing music to streaming platforms.
