Ethan Lane

From 2011 to 2016, I served as the Percussion Caption Head for the Spanish Springs High School Marching Band and Indoor Drumline, leading a 20+ member percussion section that included both battery and front ensemble players. I provided instruction in marching technique, drumming fundamentals, and sight-reading while fostering a positive and supportive learning environment that encouraged growth and musicianship. During 2012–2013, I also worked as a Bass Drum and Front Ensemble Technician with eNVision Performing Arts, where I coached students in marching fundamentals, proper bass drum technique, and complex time signatures, offering individualized feedback to elevate overall performance quality. My drumming experience includes performing with the Reno High School Jazz Band 2003–2007, where I honed improvisational skills, and marching quads for both field and indoor competitions with the Reno High School Marching Band. I also contributed to eNVision Performing Arts Independent Drumline’s 4th-place finish at the 2011 WGI World Championships, performing on quads and drum set. My skills include rudimental drumming, marching percussion fundamentals, music theory and sight-reading instruction, ensemble leadership, and lesson plan development. Beyond education, I have extensive live performance experience, having toured with regional acts such as EVERGLADE, A Moments Notice, and Idle Mind, performing at over 100 venues across the Pacific Northwest, West Coast, and Southwest U.S., in rooms ranging from 150 to 1,000 capacity, with a combined global Spotify listenership of over 50,000 monthly listeners.
