Hi, I’m Preston. I’ve been playing drums for many years, and it’s become so much more than just an instrument to me—it’s a passion, a calling, and a way to serve. I’ve played a wide variety of styles, but worship will always be at the core of what I do. Drumming has taught me discipline, creativity, and the power of connecting with others through music. In my lessons, I focus on helping students build a strong foundation in rhythm, timing, and technique, while also encouraging confidence and personal style. My goal is to create an environment that’s both professional and encouraging—where students can grow, have fun, and truly enjoy the process of learning. Whether you’re picking up sticks for the first time or looking to take your playing to the next level, I’d love to help you grow as a drummer and as a musician.

What to expect in my Drum Lessons
Beginner - Advanced - Intermediate
What to Expect in Your First Drum Lesson In our first lesson together, my main goal is to get to know you—your goals, experience level, and what inspires you to play drums. We’ll start with the basics, like grip, timing, and getting comfortable around the kit. Whether you’re brand new or already have some experience, this is a relaxed, no-pressure space to learn and have fun. By the end of our first session, my goal is to have you playing through one of your favorite songs. You’ll get hands-on experience right away, building confidence and rhythm while having fun with the music you love. From there, we’ll create a plan tailored to your goals—whether that’s learning songs, improving technique, or preparing to play on a worship team or with a band. My goal is for you to leave every lesson feeling encouraged, inspired, and excited to keep growing as a drummer.
Formal Education:
Studied Music and Worship at Liberty University
Experience Teaching:
I’ve had the privilege of working with students of all ages and skill levels—helping them build confidence, develop solid technique, and discover their own sound. My teaching approach is hands-on, patient, and tailored to each student’s goals. I focus on rhythm, timing, and musical expression, but I also emphasize the importance of heart and purpose behind every note. Whether it’s guiding a beginner through their first groove or helping an experienced drummer refine their skills, I love seeing people grow in their passion for music. Teaching drums isn’t just about learning beats—it’s about inspiring creativity, discipline, and confidence that carries beyond the instrument.
