Hi, my name is Brock and I am a drummer from Charlotte, NC! I have been a student of music for over 20 years. My musical influences include acts from various genres. Some of my favorites include Led Zepplin, Townes Van Zandt, The stooges, and Vulfpeck. I’m always trying to put my ear to different musical styles and artists, so I have a general appreciation for all styles both classic and modern. My teaching style can best be described as fun, relaxed, and inviting. My teaching philosophy can best be described by saying that I strive to meet the individual needs of my students and help them find and achieve their overall goals they’d want to pursue in music. In my lessons, you can expect to learn various drumming styles, including parts to songs and even creating parts of your own, reading sheet music/drumset notation/etc., and generalized information such as rehearsal/band etiquette and creating good practicing habits. I like to tell my students that there are no limits to what they want to create or achieve, and that ultimately they can achieve anything they set their mind to and commit! My favorite thing about teaching is seeing musicians grow in their education and witnessing students turning the wheels in their heads while receiving information. My favorite performance was the most recent performance with my band at The Milestone! My students love that I foster a positive learning environment and come from a place of love and patience. I primarily teach drums, but I can also teach guitar acoustic or electric. My approach as a teacher is to pinpoint students’ goals first then tailor fit my lessons to accommodate those goals.
