About Me

Hi! My name is Rudy and I’m a music teacher, conductor, clinician, and performer in the Chicago area! I have taught high school choir across the country for seven years, and I’ve worked with ensembles around the world. I earned my degrees in Vocal Performance and Music Education from Drake University. While there I was an active participant in the musical theatre and opera programs. I competed in both NATS and MTNA, and was awarded distinct honors through both competitions. I spent the summer of 2013 studying and performing in operas at the International Lyric Academy in Viterbo, Italy, and I spent the summer of 2015 studying and performing in operas at Minzu Universtiy in Beijing, China. I spent 2021 in Viljandi, Estonia studying choral and folk music as well as teaching English. My philosophy of teaching is rooted in the Bel Canto style, though I am well versed in musical theatre and pop and rock styles as well. I am excited to meet any new students and look forward to the opportunity to help you find your best, healthiest, and most fun voice!
