About Me

Hi! My name is Rees and I'm currently studying at Carthage College in Kenosha Wisconsin to get my Bachelor's degree in music education. Music has always been a big part of my life for as long as I can remember. I've been heavily involved with piano and voice pretty much the second I turned 7 years old and I've loved them both ever since. When it comes to lessons, I like to focus on what music means to the student and how we can put that into the songs being learned. Of course we'll learn fundamentals, basics, technique, etc. However I feel its equally as important to play and analyze songs that remind students why they chose to study music in the first place. It's for this reason that I think having both the teacher and student decide on repertoire is important, so that lessons remain engaging, efficient, and overall positive. Hope to hear from you soon!
