Hi, my name is Per! (Pronounced like pear, it’s Danish), and I am a musician from Salt Lake. I have been a student of music for over fourteen years. My musical influences include Classic Rock(1960s and 70s mostly), Opera (I’m classically trained in singing) I also enjoy Folk, Indie, and Prog Rock. My teaching style can best be described as personal, casual, and focused. My teaching philosophy can best be described by saying that I truly believe with interest, passion and a little bit of drive, anyone can become a virtuoso and a master in their chosen art. In my lessons, you can expect to learn classical technique, how to expand your range, musical theory(if you so wish), confidence to perform, practicing techniques, and muscle cultivation. I like to tell my students that few things in music are as hard in reality as they are in your head. My favorite thing about teaching is the pride I feel when a true academic breakthrough occurs. Seeing a student’s muscles and neurons slide perfectly into place is a mutually fulfilling experience. My favorite performance was either performing in Sweeney Todd, or playing at Kilby Court with my own band. My students love that I take each of their needs, goals, and expectations into account. I primarily teach voice, but I can also teach bass, guitar, and ukulele. My goal is to encourage my students’ talent and passion, and supporting whatever that may look like to them. Thanks for taking a look at my profile. Hope to meet you soon!
